Quality Assurance--Production

POSITION SUMMARY: Quality Assurance Associate is responsible for inspecting materials, processes, and products, ensuring compliance with new and existing quality standards and regulations, implementing quality management actions, and contributing to the development of company policies and procedures.


PERFORMANCE MEASURES - MAJOR JOB OBJECTIVES


Major Job Objectives

What's Expected


Vendor/Material Review

· Existing vendor/material approval checklist completion. Follow up on missing.

· New vendor/material document request, review, and approval

· Annual document request and review (audits, etc.)


Internal Audit Tasks

· Internal audit completion per schedule and turn into QA Supervisor for review.

· Provide Root Cause Analysis and CAPA suggestions to QA Supervisor.

Process Records Review

· Review Production & QC Records for timeliness and completeness. Verify accuracy of entered QC results. Obtain PCQI signatures and upload to database.

· Track film waste.


Certificate of Analysis

· Review ingredient COA against specification. Receive approved materials into inventory or follow-up on any missing/incorrect information and update internal specs as needed.

· Provide finished product COA to warehouse, customer, and database. Follow-up on missing/incorrect information.

Evaluation & Validation

· Conduct shelf-life evaluations, upload to database

· Conduct cook instruction validations, upload to database


Training


· Provide induction training for new employees, upload to database.

· Provide GMP training for temporary employees, upload to database.

· Provide refresher training as outlined in matrix, update, upload to database.


Food Safety & Quality/Legal Requirements

· Comply with food safety, quality, and legal requirements.

· Report any infractions of Food Safety, Quality or Legality to supervisor.

· Follow personal hygiene practices as documented.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Pay close attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of hygiene, HACCP, cleaning and allergen management as well as other pre-requisite programs as they relate to the food industry.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of how production processes affect product quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.


EXPERIENCE:

At least one year of experience in Food Manufacturing Facility operation under a HACCP based quality program.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal office conditions apply. Employee must have clear, close vision for reading and computer work. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, balance, stoop, grasp, talk, hear and operate computer keyboard. Job may require reaching at shoulder level and below waist. Will occasionally lift/push/pull up to 50 pound and carry objects.
